Less Comment Spam With Typo
Since i moved to using typo i’ve not had any comment spam. It’s become a regular activity of mine to look at the latest comment spam, delete it and add it to the blacklist.
Typo has build in blacklisting for comments, but i haven’t needed it. At first i was thinking, i’ll need to rush out and create an import from my mt-blacklist filter, but i don’t need it yet.
I bet a lot of it is that typo is setup to use ajax for comments. This means that instead of submitting a form, you’ve got to fire up a javascript engine and use xmlhttprequest to add the comment.
At first i thought, ajax comments, how silly. But now it’s great, no more comment spam, AND better usability.
