Burma Shuts down Internet and Mobile Network
The Burmese military government finally figured out that the only way to control the media in a highly networked world is to turn it off. Yesterday they did just that, turning off the internet connection to the country and shutting down the mobile network. Clearly when you have people mobilized and armed with camera phones, the only real way to stop the wave of participatory media is to drain the ocean.
